Important projects related to hemp are also being carried out. The Black Sea Agricultural Research Institute, affiliated to the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM), started its studies in 2017. First, the Black Sea Region Hemp Research Guided Project was implemented. With this project, the first domestic and national hemp varieties will be developed.

Another project is the "Development of Genetypes with Low THC Rate from Hemp Populations" project carried out with Ondokuz Mayıs University. With this project, it is aimed to increase agriculture by finding hemp varieties with low THC (narcotic active substance tetrahydrocannabinol).
